I recently interviewed Claude VonStroke in LA Weekly. The Detroit-turned-Bay Area funkster says American DJs and producers don't get enough respect.
"Everybody in Europe is playing U.S. house music," he says. "It's the rage. And it started here. There are a lot of DJs I know that would be huge if their address happened to be in Berlin."
VonStroke is getting ready to unleash a five-year anniversary release of some of his label Dirtybird's best output, he says. The package will include one disc of all-new material, one of classics and one mixed.
