ecstasy booms in border city; cartels eyed

The El Paso Times reports this week that seizures of ecstasy in the Texas city have exploded, including busts of traffickers trying to bring the drug into the U.S. The paper reports that Mexican drug cartels normally focused on the cocaine trade have been trying to get a foothold with E. The fact that jumps out in this article however, is this: In 2007, authorities in El Paso seized zero E; so far this year, that number is 1,594 grams.
