dealers allegedly prey on pacha, other clubs

The New York Daily News is reporting that authorities busted a drug-dealing ring that worked out of Manhattan club Pacha and might have also tried to woo customers at Roseland Ballroom and M2 Ultra Lounge (formerly Mansion). The clubs were not implicated.

Cops allege the ring was led by 23-year-old college student and nightlife promoter Michael Shimonov, who they say sold ecstasy for as little as $8 a dose wholesale to 24-year-old Albert Kim, who allegedly peddled the wares in clubs for $24. The pair also allegedly sold GHB and ketamine. Authorities say the ring eventually sold drugs to undercover cops, and that Shimonov had 88 ecstasy pills in his posession when they caught up with him.
