the new yorker raves

Pop critic Sasha Frere-Jones gives a shout to Brooklyn nu electro night Flashing Lights in last week's New Yorker magazine. He writes that rave is back:

More interesting work, as usual, is happening on the margins, with producers like London’s Fake Blood, the Los Angeles duo Acid Girls, and a trio of New York d.j.s—Nick Catchdubs, DJ Ayres, and Jubilee—who hold a monthly party called Flashing Lights.

My piece on L.A.'s nu electro movement.
