Los Angeles-area public radio station KCRW (89.9 FM; kcrw.com) is hosting a benefit that will feature its top spinners, including music director Jason Bentley as well as Raul Campos, Liza Richardson and Jason Eldridge. They'll be helming the "Dub House Disco Ballroom" at the March 17 event, "RadioActive," which takes place in the deco Park Plaza Hotel in L.A.'s Westlake District.
The "Neo-Soul Streetbeat Sound System" room has Garth Trinidad, Jeremy Sole, Anthony Valadez, Mathieu Schreyer and Aaron Byrd on decks; the "World Folktronic Jazz Lounge" brings you Henry "Hates DJs" Rollins, Anne Litt, Mario Cotto, Eric J. Lawrence and Jason Kramer; "Grand Voodoo Salon" serves up Tom Schnabel, Chris Douridas, Dan Wilcox, Gary Calamar, and Michael Barnes.
Tickets are $35 in advance for KCRW members and $45 the day of the event for everyone. Info.
