adam freeland drops new album

Onetime break-beat artist Adam Freeland, using just the artist name Freeland, is unleashing his first artist album in six years, Cope, on his own Marine Parade label. The release date has yet to be determined. Freeland's got a band, vocalists and guitarists (Joey Santiago of the Pixies and Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails offer contributions). Jerry Casale of Devo collaborates on the track "Only A Fool." Even Tommy Lee gets in on the action on drums.

Although the long-player contains "electro-beats," a press release calls the album "genre-smashing." It's also the first long-player from Freeland since he moved to L.A. (as felt in tracks with titles such as "Borderline," and "Best Fish Tacos in Ensenada").

Interestingly, there's no mention of Miami: Freeland is taking his spin sessions and his band to Austin for SXSW:
