*The website Resident Advisor states that Frankie Knuckles responded to rumors reported here and picked up elsewhere that the house music founder had a leg amputated: Not so, he says. He did have a foot amputated in July as a result of bone disease that spread after he broke it several years ago, according to last week's account of his response on the RA site.The spinner didn't seem to happy about having to explain the situation, reportedly stating that "I just wish that instead of someone opening a forum about it here online, that I would've been trusted well enough by everyone to know that I would make a statement about it." Sure, Frankie, we'll wait several more months for the godfather of our scene to make proclamations from on high. Being journalists, we just love to sit around and print whatever comes our way. Whenever you're ready.
And by the way, I really dig when sites like RA pick up items from little old blogga and then proceed to claim that they're behind spreading the news. The news came from a discussion board post I was tipped off to. And thanks for that. But come on, y'all get so much content from me: Care to link to me like, like, once in a while? I always link to sites (see this item) that have interesting news. That's how it's done in a gentleman's world.
*UPDATE: The editor of RA says the site DID NOT pick up the item from Danceblogga, and that the language about spreading the news was a sort of mea culpa for spreading the wrong news. I guess apologies are in order on my end as well, although it is true that other sites have picked up our content without links, nods, or Palinwinks.
