dance music citizens get electoral

-DJ Paul V. (above) of nu-electro radio show Neon Noise on Indie 103.1 in the Los Angeles area joins the ranks of those DJs who have dedicated mixes to the presidential candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama. The spinner's 30-minute "Obama Megamix" can be found here.

"With the mix, I tried to stick to the theme of change, hope, and unity -with most tracks using Obama's own words from his many powerful speeches," says Mr. V. "I want you to share this mix. If you're a DJ - play it someplace, anyplace."

The track list follows:

Obama vs. Ratatat - Obamatat (We Can Not Walk Alone) (Justin Lowe mashup)
Daft Punk vs. Adam Freeland - AerObama
DJ Z-Trip - Obama Outake 1 (snippet)
The Alan Cohen Experience - Obama
MC Yogi - Vote For Hope
The Hush Sound - We Believe In (Barack Obama)
Jay-Z - Lick A Shot For Obama
John Brown - Sarah Palin (I Wanna Lay Some Pipe)
DLake - I'ma Vote Obama Way (Tisa remix)
The Crystal Method - Now Is The Time (Vote '08 remix)
Kennedy - Who's Votin' Obama?
Z-Trip - Yes We Can (Obama Outake 1)

-Meanwhile Raymond Leon Roker, founder and publisher of URB magazine, has been tearing up the blogosphere with his political musings on Huffington Post. In this recent one, he wonders why Sen. John McCain gets a pass for having used the word "gook" during his 2000 bid for the White House. Roker has also started a personal blog, here.

-Again, as part of my attempts to be fair, pro-McCain mixes or links to dance music publishers who have started blogging for the red-state candidate are welcome.
