the new yorker discovers laptop djs

New Yorker magazine pop critic Sasha Frere-Jones has a piece in this week's edition on the increasing influence of laptops in live pop performance. He hits on the widespread use of the Serato program in DJing, then goes on to describe how many pop performers, including Radiohead, Bjork and Battles, have incorporated laptops into their stage shows. Strangely, he doesn't mention the program that, perhaps more than any other, made this possible: Ableton Live.
