techno alert: kenny larkin releases album

Detroit techno stalwart Kenny Larkin has a new album, Keys, Strings and Tambourines, due Sept. 2 via Carl Craig's Planet E label. The album, he says, is "my most dance-floor-oriented album to date." Larkin, who's now based in the Los Angeles area, actually traveled back to Detroit to soak up some Motown inspiration and record some of the album in Craig's own studio.

Interestingly, Larkin has started a career in L.A. as a stand-up comedian and actor and says he splits his time 60/40 between music and comedy/acting.
