dance music news: monday

-The Associated Press reports that more than 1.5 million people attended Germany's DJ-driven Love Parade (pictured above), which took place in Dortmund. Thirty-seven floats and 250 DJs entertained the crowds. Underworld, Richie Hawtin, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Dubfire, M.A.N.D.Y., Carl Craig, Westbam and DJ Hell were on the bill, and I spotted photos of Moby and Ricardo Villalobos spinning as well.

San Francisco's own Love Parade spin-off, the LoveFest, is set for Oct. 4.

-That two-disc mix of Toolroom Knights by Toolroom honcho Mark Knight comes out stateside Sept. 9, with a few North American dates scheduled to support the release:
