Perhaps inspired by the fabled boat parties of Miami's annual Winter Music Conference, New York's Global Frequencies is presenting a summer series of six events on the not-so-high seas starting May 24 and ending Sept. 21. The cruises boast "NYC's largest floating dance floor" and will navigate the new Brooklyn Bridge waterfall art installation. The opening party will feature John Creamer and Stephane K on the decks. The June 15 event will have Luke Fair and James Talk on mixing duties. Speakers, et. al., are being handled by Mansion (formerly Crobar) sound engineer Mark Devine, who says, "I am installing a sound system utilizing the most current technology available - a four-point, full-range stack system that any top DJ would want to DJ on."[Above: A view from the Global Frequencies vessel, circa last summer]
