-Cedric Gervais compiles and mixes Space Miami Terrace, which pays homage to the famed open-air dance floor at downtown Miami club Space. The two-disc mix from Deep Dish's Yoshitoshi label starts off with voicemail messages to Gervais from the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, Dubfire, and Erick Morillo. "Sharam, Louis and I thought it would be great to capture the Space Miami Terrance vibe," Gervais says. (Sharam is Yoshitoshi co-owner and Deep Dish member Sharam Tayebi; I assume Louis is Space owner Luis Puig). "This compilation allowed me to do that as well as give back to Space, it's fans and the label that have helped make the DJ that I am today." (I'm not yet sure if the comp reflects the vibe, but I have to say that the Yoshitoshi party at Space and a spin session by Danny Howells there on the Terrace a few years back rank at the top of my all-time clubbing experiences).

-Swedish soul singer Kissey Asplund (above) unleashes her debut, Plethora, May 27 via R2 Records. It's said to contain elements of jazz, electronic music and hip-hop. Papa Jazz has produced the beats for her, and Asplund has received airplay from the likes of Gilles Person and Osunlade.

Caught Howells in many fine corners of the world yet always missed him at Space come WMC. Ah well.
