friday notes

bad-ass vegas ho's: nick terranova (right) and austin leeds
-Skylark, the duo comprised of DJ Nic Fanciulli and production partner Andy Chatterly, is releasing a collection of remixes based on its debut, I-Panik (which is one of my favorite up-tempo, DJ-centric albums of the last several months, by the way). I-Panik Remixed comes out via NRK June 2 and features UNKLE, Funk D'Void, Joel Mull and more on re-rub duties.

-Down-tempo act Thievery Corporation is heading out on an Outernational Music tour that will feature a band as well as select-date tour-mates Gnarls Barkley and Los Amigos Invisibles along with tour-wide support from SeuJorge, Bebel Gilberto, Federico Aubele and Turntables on the Hudson. The dates follow:

June 20 @ Greek Theatre, San Francisco CA (with Los Amigos Invisibles)

June 21 @ Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas NV (with Gnarls Barkley)

June 22 @ Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles CA

June 24 @ Stubb's BBQ, Austin TX

June 26 @ SummerStage, New York NY

June 28 @ Merriweather Pavilion, Washington DC (with TV on the Radio and Ladytron)

-Famed New York house club Cielo has branded another mix CD: The two-disc Cinco comes at you July 8, with Nicolas Matar and Willie Graf doing the mixing and compiling.

-Starkillers (Nick Terranova) and Austin Leeds get behind the Nervous Records' mix-CD Nervous Nitelife: Vegas, due May 20. (See the cover image, above).
