Thursday notes:

-Drum 'n' bass star and BBC Radio 1 spinner Grooverider (above) was reportedly arrested in the ultra-wealthy emirate of Dubai after allegedly getting caught with marijuana and pornographic DVDs in his possession during a search by authorities at the city's airport. Apparently the United Arab Emirates outlaws porn as well as kush (but allows Michael Jackson to live there). (The state of California, on the other hand, largely tolerates pot smoking and the porn business, yet sometimes frowns on Jackson. Discuss). The 40-year-old DJ, who apparently came to the UAE for a gig, was scheduled to be in court regarding the allegations this week.
