Monday notes:
-Organizers of the fifth annual Club World Awards are moving Wednesday's event to a larger venue next door to the one originally booked for the early evening festivities. It'll happen at Opium Garden in Miami, and Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Miguel Migs and Tila Tequila (above) are scheduled to present awards. The event is invite-only.
-Remix Hotel Miami at the National Hotel this week is free to all who register. That includes DJ events, gear demos, panel discussions and showcases. Remix Magazine has also partnered up with the iMeem site to host individual blogs for those who are interested in sharing their Miami experiences with friends. Users can upload text, photos, videos and podcasts and will become eligible to win prizes from M-Audio, Pioneer, Vestax and more.
-After nearly 30 years in business, New York's Vinylmania record store has closed its doors. It had been a mecca for DJs in the disco era and beyond. (Spotted at Coolfer).
-Austin-based house DJ Joey Youngman takes the reigns of the second Franchise Player mix-CD, Franchise Player 02. It's due June 24 on Swank.
