Thursday notes:

-My Groundswell column in this week's LA CityBeat takes a look at alt-dance remix and production crew A Touch of Class. The New York duo is responsible for having discovered and signed the Scissor Sisters and for helping ignite the electroclash/dance punk/anti-velvet-rope movement. It has a new collection of remixes and productions, A Touch of Class Still Sucks! out on its own ATOC label.

"I didn't like to go to those big clubs because they were expensive and boring," says ATOC member Oliver Stumm. "You walked in and within two minutes you knew the formula – you knew what you were going to get for the next four hours. We would joke that you could go to Twilo, leave for a cup of coffee and a doughnut across the street, come back, and still hear the same song playing."

-Dennis Ferrer stars in my weekly dance club recommendations for the Los Angeles area.

-Apologies go to those who have been sending me Winter Music Conference party information. As usual, I'm not posting most party listings, as the updates would be never-ending. But if you need the 411 before you go next week, the WMC site has a listings page, the Made Event people have several parties listed, and Flavorpill also has a night-by-night rundown (R.I.P. for now, Miami Masterlist, I guess).

Nope. I already mentioned and linked to the WMC list. I was talking about the "Miami Master List" that had been compiled and circulated via email by David Prince, founder of the also-defunct, similarly titled WMC alternative M3 Summit.
