Tuesday notes:
-KCRW (89.9 FM) DJ Jason Bentley, a 15-year veteran of progressive dance music radio, will play a 90-minute DJ set at the White House Correspondents Dinner April 21 at the -- you guessed it -- White House.
"I am honored to play music for the esteemed members of the press, the president, and vice president, at the White House Correspondents Dinner this year," Bentley states. "It's a testament to the influence of KCRW's DJs at all levels of our society. So far this year, between Liza Richardson DJing at the Oscars, and me playing the WHCD, I feel like we have put our stamp on some of the most influential events in the country. It's truly remarkable."
-Check out the winners of the annual Club World Awards (Pacha New York got best super-club) and International Dance Music Awards.

-Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia tells the 'blogga he's breaking from the Yoshitoshi family (though he will remain a behind-the-scenes financial partner) to start his own digital label, SCI+TECH. He says it'll kick off with his own cover of Love & Rockets' "I Feel Speed" (also featured on his GU31 - Tapei mix) April 10.
-Faithless (above) is doing three gigs in April, including:

Mon April 30th - San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore

-Electronic band Motor has a new album, Unhuman, coming May 22 on Mute.
-Armand Van Helden has a new one, Ghettoblaster, coming April 24 on Ultra. I gave it a quick spin. It's strangely retro. There are a lot of freestyle-esque elements (electronic cowbells, etc.) and vocals. Strange.
-Ellen Allen's The Other Side - Berlin, a compilation of Berlin techno paired with a DVD that takes takes viewers "below the city's surface," like an alternative guidebook, comes out April 28 via Time Out/Def Dumb and Blind Recordings.
-Vancouver-based no luck club, an instrumental turntablist/cut-and-paste trio, releases Prosperity on May 8 on Expansion Team Records.
