-noted media coverage-

-The Guardian newspaper takes a look at the rock-centric bookings on the dance isle of Ibiza this year and seems to declare them a success. "It is the iPod generation - kids don't want to listen to just one genre of music any more," says Manumission's Dawn McKay, who has been organizing "Ibiza Rocks" parties at the Ibiza club.

-Rolling Stone checks in with summer's leftfield chart darlings, Gnarles Barkley, and says that before "Crazy" hit big, GB's "Danger Mouse was unknown outside of a small and geeky group of electronic-music and indie-hip-hop fans." Thanks for the compliment.

-The Village Voice's Tricia Romano hangs out with DJ Rekha, who has a new mix-CD, DJ Rekha Presents Basement Bhangra, coming soon.

-AOL's music blog reports that drum 'n' bass DJ Rap is working on an indie movie.

-The arrests last week of five people on suspicion of trafficking ecstasy has led to the revelation that a horrible 2002 triple slaying in the Bay Area was allegedly the result of a battle over West Coast ecstasy trade.

-noted events-

-The "12th annual" Nocturnal Wonderland rave is scheduled for Sept. 2 at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino. The lineup includes The Crystal Method, Kaskade, LTJ Bukem, Hernan Cattaneo, Doc Martin, King Britt, Eddie Halliwell, Lillyanne and more.

-The same night in Miami, Victor Calderone (pictured at the top) opens what appears to be a recurring night called "Evolve" at Twilo Miami.
